Netgear Nighthawk M1 MR1100 and other supported models
The local-service directory includes Nighthawk M1 MR1100, MR5100, MR5200, MR6110, MR6150, MR6400, MR6450, MR6500 and MR6550, plus AirCard 785, 797 and 815. Match the full model number on your modem; the detected menu determines which repairs are available for its firmware.
MR1100 setup and Netgear firmware preparation
For MR1100 setup, MR5100 firmware or MR6500 and MR6550 firmware questions, start with your exact model in the video guides. Keep the modem powered, use a USB data cable and follow the selected task instructions. A firmware file for a similar-looking hotspot is not automatically compatible.
Local repair and configuration workflows
Depending on the detected profile, the tool offers IMEI repair, IPv4 TTL and IPv6 hop-limit configuration, carrier unlock, firmware workflows and band selection. Use the on-screen menu for current availability; no service is promised for every Netgear model or firmware.
Netgear remote management
Remote Mods includes reviewed MR1100 Nighthawk M1 and AC815S AirCard 815S profiles. Local repair support and remote enrollment support are separate. An enrolled modem needs a supported connection and an active device plan.
Credits and repair licenses
The Windows tool download is free. Paid repairs use the charge displayed before confirmation or an eligible repair license. Remote device plans are billed separately from repair credits and licenses.
Common questions
Can SMT help with MR5100 unlock or MR6550 unlocked-model questions?
Carrier unlock availability depends on the exact carrier variant and firmware, and an already unlocked modem may not need that operation. Detect the modem in SMT and review its service menu or contact support before purchasing repair credits.
Will an MR1100 factory reset keep my settings?
A factory reset can restore default configuration. Save your account access and connection settings first, and use the model-specific reset instructions. Ask support about the particular repair or remote profile rather than assuming every setting survives a reset.
Does every Netgear hotspot support every repair?
No. Available operations depend on the exact model and firmware. Review the supported devices and the detected menu before buying credits.
Can I manage a Netgear modem from the website?
Supported MR1100 and AC815S profiles can use Remote Mods after enrollment. An online, enrolled modem and eligible account are required.
Can band locking add new bands?
No. Band selection only chooses bands the supported modem reports. Restricting bands can reduce connectivity.
